Being one out of the five pillars of the Catholic Divine Project is abstinence from food, drink 🍸, pleasure and other interesting practices. This is strongly recommended for every intending member of the CDP for spiritual, physical, mental and all round development of the person which God requires to belong in this partnership. 2. This is used daily by the Project to preserve the strength 💪 received from divinity from the exercise of fasting and other obligatory practices. 3. Period of Silence: This is usually a period of keeping quiet and quieting the body, it's organs, senses, systems and muscles; the soul - feeling, imagination and memory; Spirit - Heart ❤, bra...

Course one. Topic one. *FASTING*. Fasting is one of the five pillars of the Project. Meaning of Fasting. What is the true definition of fasting? Fasting is abstinence from food or drink or both for health, ritualistic, religious, or ethical purposes. In the early church, fasting was often seen as a spiritual discipline, used to focus on God and to seek his guidance. Fasting was seen as a way to deny oneself physical comforts in order to draw closer to God. Many Christians throughout history have practiced fasting as a spiritual discipline, including figures such as St. Augustine, St. Francis of Assisi, and John Calvin. In the modern era, there are many different approaches to fasting among Christians. Some fast from all food for a set period of time, such as 24 hours, while others fast from specific types of food or from one meal per day. Some Christians fast from things other than food, such as technology, social media, or certain activities. The goal is usually to focus on God a...

Course one. Topic two. *FASTING* Types of Fasting. There are three main types of fasts: calorie restriction, nutrient restriction, and seasonal eating. But we are not here for these main types of Fasting.  These are physical nutritional fast. But we are concerned about the spiritual fast. What are the different types of fasting? Since there are countless types of fasting, it would take a lifetime to lay out all the options, but I can share the basics to help you find the type of fasting that will help you draw nearer to God. 1. A 40-Day Complete Fast (No Food or Water ) Moses and Jesus both give us examples of a 40 day complete fast. Note please that they give extreme examples by having no food or water for 40 days. Some people consult their doctor before fasting from all food and water for more than 24 hours. This is for their health reasons. 2. A Complete Fast The duration of a complete fast could range from part of a day to an entire day to several days or weeks. This was the mo...

Course 1. Topic 3 *FASTING* Benefits and Purposes of Fasting Many of us think of fasting as a spiritual duty to God, depriving ourselves of food and drink for a period of time in order to prove our love for Him. While long-suffering is a part of being human and certainly a part of being Christian, fasting should not be included when we think about “suffering for Christ.” On the contrary, fasting is less about what we’re giving up and much more about what we’re making room for. When we fast, we exchange what we need to survive for what we need to live—more of God. Here are five spiritual benefits to fasting: Benefits of Fasting 1) A soul cleansing. How often we forget that our bodies are the temple of the Lord—especially when deciding what to eat! Fasting is a great time to remember the spiritual connection we have to our physical bodies. Without the toxins we put in our bodies, we not only give our bodies a break from the digestive process, but we also allow our spirits to be detoxed. ...

Course 1. Topic 4. *FASTING* How to fast: STEP 1: SET YOUR OBJECTIVE Why are you fasting? Is it for spiritual renewal, for guidance, for healing, for the resolution of problems, for special grace to handle a difficult situation? Ask the Holy Spirit to clarify His leading and objectives for your prayer fast. This will enable you to pray more specifically and strategically. Through fasting and prayer we humble ourselves before God so the Holy Spirit will stir our souls, awaken our churches, and heal our land according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. Make this a priority in your fasting. STEP 2: MAKE YOUR COMMITMENT. Pray about the kind of fast you should undertake. Jesus implied that all of His followers should fast (Matthew 6:16-18; 9:14,15) For Him it was a matter of when believers would fast, not if they would do it. Before you fast, decide the following up front: How long you will fast—one meal, one day, a week, several weeks, forty days (Beginners should start slowly, building up to longer fa...
