Course 1. Topic 6. *FASTING* Biblical fasting: There are several examples of biblical fasting that we can look at. One example is found in 2 Samuel 12:15-23, when David fasted and prayed after the death of his son. Another example is found in Jonah 3:4-10, when the people of Nineveh fasted and repented in response to God's message of judgment. Esther 4:3-16 tells the story of Esther and Mordecai fasting to seek God's help in saving the Jewish people from destruction.   In the New Testament, we see Jesus fasting in Matthew 4:2, and the disciples fasting in Matthew 6:16-18. The early church fasted in Acts 13:2 and 14:23. The book of Acts also mentions fasting in connection with prayer, decision-making, and receiving visions from God. Fasting was also practiced by church leaders such as Paul and Barnabas. Matthew 6:16-18 [16]And whenever you are fasting, do not look gloomy and sour and dreary like the hypocrites, for they put on a dismal countenance, that their fastin...

Course 1. Topic 5. *FASTING* CDP FASTING  On CDP fasting there is daily fasting which is from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m (cross night fasting, the easiest and the simplest so far) this means that from 10pm till 4am, no project is allowed to eat anything. By doing this, you are activating your Spiritual engine for your daily challenges. Though very simple but very powerful in the heavenly record, if one does it very well. There is also weekly fasting which is from 6 a.m. to 12 noon every Friday. This is to wrap up your week and prepare you for the upcoming week. The Angels and saints in this department are always on ground to take record and solicit for reward. Other CDP Fastings are Battle Fasting (e.g Mount Carmel Challenge Fasting), Novena fasting (e.g Great Expectation Fasting November 1-6 in preparation for Advent), Special Operation fasting (e.g The just concluded Operation Face Nigeria, Operation Roll-Back-the-Devil, Operation never Aisrican etc), Armageddon Fasting (Fasting duri...

Course name: Fasting. Topic 1.

Course one. Topic one. *FASTING*. Fasting is one of the five pillars of the Project. Meaning of Fasting. What is the true definition of fasting? Fasting is abstinence from food or drink or both for health, ritualistic, religious, or ethical purposes. In the early church, fasting was often seen as a spiritual discipline, used to focus on God and to seek his guidance. Fasting was seen as a way to deny oneself physical comforts in order to draw closer to God. Many Christians throughout history have practiced fasting as a spiritual discipline, including figures such as St. Augustine, St. Francis of Assisi, and John Calvin. In the modern era, there are many different approaches to fasting among Christians. Some fast from all food for a set period of time, such as 24 hours, while others fast from specific types of food or from one meal per day. Some Christians fast from things other than food, such as technology, social media, or certain activities. The goal is usually to focus on God a...

Course one. Topic two. *FASTING* Types of Fasting. There are three main types of fasts: calorie restriction, nutrient restriction, and seasonal eating. But we are not here for these main types of Fasting.  These are physical nutritional fast. But we are concerned about the spiritual fast. What are the different types of fasting? Since there are countless types of fasting, it would take a lifetime to lay out all the options, but I can share the basics to help you find the type of fasting that will help you draw nearer to God. 1. A 40-Day Complete Fast (No Food or Water ) Moses and Jesus both give us examples of a 40 day complete fast. Note please that they give extreme examples by having no food or water for 40 days. Some people consult their doctor before fasting from all food and water for more than 24 hours. This is for their health reasons. 2. A Complete Fast The duration of a complete fast could range from part of a day to an entire day to several days or weeks. This was the mo...

Course 1. Topic 3 *FASTING* Benefits and Purposes of Fasting Many of us think of fasting as a spiritual duty to God, depriving ourselves of food and drink for a period of time in order to prove our love for Him. While long-suffering is a part of being human and certainly a part of being Christian, fasting should not be included when we think about “suffering for Christ.” On the contrary, fasting is less about what we’re giving up and much more about what we’re making room for. When we fast, we exchange what we need to survive for what we need to live—more of God. Here are five spiritual benefits to fasting: Benefits of Fasting 1) A soul cleansing. How often we forget that our bodies are the temple of the Lord—especially when deciding what to eat! Fasting is a great time to remember the spiritual connection we have to our physical bodies. Without the toxins we put in our bodies, we not only give our bodies a break from the digestive process, but we also allow our spirits to be detoxed. ...
